Hello, I'm Grace. honest & gentle birthed from my personal experience with dry, sensitive and eczematous skin.
I understand how uncomfortable that can be, and would like to help others like myself feel better in their own skin. I hope to improve your quality of life by designing products that are both gentle and moisturising for sensitive skin, effective in relieving dryness and inflammation.
Researching and experimenting in the home lab took months, before I tested on myself, my family and friends. Then, it took a couple more months before I decided 'this is it' - the final formulations. All formulations are proprietary and unique.

As a natural skincare brand, we commit to having over 95% of our ingredients to be of natural origin, of which more than 85% is naturally occurring.
We strive for a good balance between harnessing the goodness of natural, as well as ensuring greater product safety and shelf life with ingredients that may not be fully natural.

To that, honest & gentle pledges to use only organic, cold-pressed carrier oils.
Not only would the oil’s nutrients be retained as much as possible, they also pose a lower risk of skin irritation as compared to other extraction methods like heat refinery, expeller pressing and solvent extraction.

We pride ourselves not just on the fact that we are a natural skincare brand, but also being a small-batch boutique, focusing on quality rather than quantity.
Each product is carefully crafted by hand, not mass-produced.
As the bulk of our ingredients are unrefined, not heat or chemically processed, please note that there may be slight variations in color and texture, depending on the harvest batch. However, that should not change the effectiveness of our products.

Besides being honest with you about our ingredients and helping you be honest with your skin, we want to be honest citizens doing our part for our communities.
First, we hope to support the lives of the local women in Africa by purchasing the organic, unrefined shea butter they produce, where the proceeds go to their education, healthcare, rebuilding of communities, and so on. it is our commitment to use their shea butter in all our products.

Second, we hope to be honest with our environment by minimising the use of plastic.
You would find most of our materials made of either paper or glass, and we are continuing to explore how we can reduce plastic in our packaging.
To encourage environmental sustainability, we would like to invite you to reuse your packaging after use, or take part in our zero waste project.
If that is not possible, dropping your used packaging off at the recycling bin would be the next best alternative.
